This was our first trip down to Myrtle Beach. It was to be a 3 day tournament. Right from the plane we headed to day one at Barefoot Resort & Golf.
Evan started well with his Caddy VB holding his balls. Evan pars 1 and 2 and was off to a great start. It was a beautiful day and after being on an hour flight it couldn't get much better. We were all enjoying the nice course and were both getting into the game. Nothing real special on the front 9. On the back 9 Evan shoots a career low 43 and wins the first round. It felt like I was parring every hole. Evan 95, Jamie 109.
Day two was played at Kings North Myrtle Beach National. After a hard night of boozing you could really see the effects on our game. No one was playing well. There was water and sand on every hole. Jamie almost gave his clubs away as they were doing him no good. Evan played well on 1 of the 3 signature holes. Jamie has a burst of Tigerness by chipping in from the rough. If he missed there was going to be trouble on the course. Evan pars the par 5 "Gambler" by hitting to the island fairway and then another solid 5 wood to the back of the green. On the last hole there was 40 sand traps, and after a great drive Evan was right down the middle. After that we were both in the sand, I guess we missed the beach. Evan 107, Jamie 125
Day 3 was a forfeit by Jamie as he did not make the cut, but I will let him slide in the loss column.
Evan 4 - Jamie 1
