Birthday Golf

Today was my birthday so I skipped out of work early and went to play 18 holes. I had some Groupon deal that I purchased a way back and was finally able to get out and use it. I haven't played 18 holes by myself in a long time. It was good to get out and mess around and enjoy the nice weather. Only problem was that there was nobody around to see all my good shots. I was able to play 18 in 3 hours. Was flying by with that cart. Shot a 98 for the day and since I hadn't touched a club in about a month and a half, I will take it.

Less play = busy busy busy

This year I have played 10 times since March 2011. Last year I played 23 times by this date. I guess the news of a new baby and working on getting that house has really hit the golf game. I should be able to get out at least 2 or 3 more times this year, so that will be good. It seems like the rest of the crew really haven't been playing golf either. I guess everyone has their own things going on and no time for fun golf! I guess I can blame my handicap on them not being around to play a lot.

Lauren wants to play, but she has the baby to play with. I don't think she should play. And I know she is a follower of this blog so she will see this. How many prego ladies do you see on the golf course. Its better she takes it easy and just watches golf on TV. I know we are both excited to get out to Tashua Knolls and play, now that we are residents of Trumbull.

Tom has been playing a lot. That means that we will have a good match next time we play.

I think next week/weekend I will get out and play before it is too late.

Fairchild Wheeler - 1st time

It was a hot Sunday and Tom was up to visit us with Logan and Alisa. We pulled into the parking lot with only 3 minutes until tee time so things were a little rushed. Lauren Tom and I were able to get out together. Tom had his new clubs and they were working well right from the beginning. Lauren was playing really well. In the end I won, 104, Lauren and Tom tied at 111. Everyone had some great shots. Tom dropped a nice chip shot in the hole to save par. Lauren had the irons working well on the back 9 and was able to par a two or three holes. I had a good putt or two. It was a fun day. Below are some of the action shots.

July 4th

July 4th weekend and we were able to play some golf. Lauren and I went to meet Lori and Dr. J to go play some golf at Lori's golf club, Basin Ridge Golf Club. The weather was rainy and cloudy, but the course was in great shape otherwise. It was Jim's first time out since last season, so we were both excited to play. We both didn't have the best rounds, but we can blame that on the rain. We did have fun getting out and playing some golf, and that is what matters. Oh, on the back nine, my shoe broke and it felt like I was playing with a broken tire. It was fun to play with Lori and Lauren and Jim at the course. It was a real nice course.

PS - Lauren's golf game is really getting better this year.

Erin's Wedding Weekend

We were able to get together to play down near Point Pleasant Beach in NJ for Lauren's cousin's wedding. Tom, Danny, and Myself were all due to tee off. Since all three of us were coming from different areas, PA, NJ, CT, we all had to meet at the course. Danny was there about 3 hours early and just slept in the car. Tom and I showed up at around the same time, but couldn't find each other. I was waiting in the pro shop, he was out in the parking lot. We were able to hit the range and then get on the course. It was a great day and a nice course. I was able to pull out the victory on Tom and Danny this time, but not because we played well, only because I didn't play as bad as them. I think I won with a 109 score.

Its been a while

Its been way too long since we have all played golf together. Everyone is working hard and time is limited to get together and even get on the course. It doesn't help that it has rained hard for the last 7 days.

New low score

Today I played at Oak Hills with my buddy Steve from Media Storm. I shot my lowest score ever, 90 and I was playing from the Blue tee box! Steve shot an 82. It must have been playing with Steve that caused me to step my game up. It was fun day and lets see if I can actually break 90 one of these days.

Jamie, Barksdale and Dr J have been MIA. Everyone is too busy, but I am sure we will get together and play before the season is over.
